The Ministry of Sports and Recreation has approved a budget of $1,120,000 to support the Black Stars in their upcoming 2026 FIFA World Cup Qualifiers.
Ghana will face the Central African Republic (CAR) and Comoros in their final two qualifying matches next month, with hopes of sealing a spot at the global tournament.
Addressing the press on Monday, September 29, Sports Ministry spokesperson Kofi Adams confirmed that the Ghana Football Association (GFA) had submitted its budget estimates earlier this month.
“The FA submitted a budget within an acceptable range, and the Ministry did not need to add any comments. The estimates for both matches were formally submitted on September 18, and forwarded to the Office of the President the following day,” Adams explained.
The total allocation of $1.12 million has been split between the two fixtures: $733,000 for the away match in Casablanca against CAR on October 8, and $387,000 for the home game against Comoros at the Accra Sports Stadium.
The Black Stars will regroup in camp in the coming days as preparations intensify for the crucial doubleheader.
