Paris Saint-Germain (PSG) secured their first-ever Champions League title with a resounding 5-0 victory over Inter Milan in the final held in Allianz Arena Munich.
This dominant win marked the largest margin of victory in a Champions League final since 1994 when Ac Milan beat Fc Barcelona 4-0 , cementing PSG’s place in history.
The French giants got off to a flying start, with Achraf Hakimi scoring in the 12th minute against his former club.
Young forward Désiré Doué then took center stage, becoming the first teenager to score twice in a Champions League final since Eusebio in 1962. Khvicha Kvaratskhelia and substitute Senny Mayulu added to PSG’s tally, sealing their historic triumph.
This victory marks a remarkable turnaround for PSG, who had previously spent over a decade trying to win the Champions League by signing big-name stars like Lionel Messi, Neymar, and Kylian Mbappé.
However, after shifting their focus to nurturing young talent, PSG has now achieved European success in their first season without Mbappé, who joined Real Madrid last summer.
PSG’s win makes them the second French club to lift the European Cup, following Marseille’s victory in 1993.
Coach Luis Enrique celebrated his second Champions League title, having previously guided Barcelona to victory in 2015.
The Spanish tacticain becomes the second manager in football history to win two trebles with two different clubs following the success of his fellow La masia graduate, Pep Guardiola.
With this win, PSG becomes the ninth club in history to achieve the prestigious treble, having already won Ligue 1 and the Coupe de France.
The Parisians becomes the fifth team to lift their debut Champions League trophy in Munich, following Nottingham Forest, Marseille, Dortmund, and Chelsea.
– Nottingham Forest (1979)
– Marseille (1993)
– Dortmund (1997)
– Chelsea (2012)
– PSG (2025)
