The National Sports Authority (NSA) has dissolved the Ghana Boxing Authority (GBA) Board following the death of boxer Ernest Akushey. A nine-member Interim Management Committee (IMC) will take over immediately.
The move, made with the Ministry of Sports, aims to improve athlete safety, strengthen medical and technical standards, and restore public confidence in Ghanaian boxing.
The NSA thanked the outgoing board for their service and pledged ongoing reforms to protect the future of the sport.
