Dutch international forward Memphis Depay has hinted at helping Ghana Premier League side Kumasi Asante Kotoko improve the quality of the pitch at its training centre.
He dropped this hint when he visited the Porcupine Warriors as he continues to holiday in Ghana; he was spotted in Ghana’s capital, Accra earlier in December, promoting a boxing event.
At Kotoko’s base at Adarko Jachie, the Corinthians players met with players and coaches of the club including head coach Dr. Prosper Narteh Ogum.
“You guys train on these type of pitches, I respect that. It’s not easy, the ball bounces too much so it takes too much sometimes to control but how can we solve it…so I am brainstorming with everybody behind the scenes now that I’ve showed my face here and I (will) try to do my best to make things change” Depay said.
The 30 year old Depay, who is of Ghanaian descent, has played for Manchester United, Olympique Lyon and Atletico Madrid in his decorated career before heading to the Brazilian League recently to join Corinthians.
In 14 games in all competitions, Depay has seven goals and four assists. Scroll down to watch video.
