The National Sports Authority (NSA) has launched an investigation into the death of Ghanaian boxer Ernest Akushey, aka “Bahubali,” who passed away in the early hours of September 23. Reports suggest he may have suffered internal bleeding following his fight against Jacob Dickson 11 days earlier at Bukom Boxing Arena.
Akushey, who competed in the super middleweight and light heavyweight divisions, held a record of eight professional fights, with six wins. His sudden death has raised concerns about safety in Ghanaian boxing.
