Elon Musk and Prince Andrew Named in Newly Released Epstein Files

Newly disclosed documents linked to the late convicted sex offender and financier Jeffrey Epstein have named billionaire Elon Musk and Prince Andrew. The files, released by Congressional Democrats, were provided to the House Oversight Committee by the Jeffrey Epstein Estate.

According to the documents, Musk was invited to Epstein’s private island in December 2014. A note dated December 6, 2014, reads: “Reminder: Elon Musk to island Dec. 6 (is this still happening?).” Musk has previously said he was invited but declined.

Separately, a flight manifest shows that Prince Andrew traveled on May 12, 2000, from Teterboro, New Jersey, to West Palm Beach, Florida, alongside Epstein and his associate, Ghislaine Maxwell. Maxwell was convicted in 2021 of conspiring with Epstein to traffic underage girls.

A heavily redacted ledger from 2000 also records two payments for massages for someone listed only as “Andrew.” While press reports and palace schedules confirm Prince Andrew was in the U.S. during that period, it remains unclear whether the ledger referred to him. Buckingham Palace previously stated Andrew attended a charity event in New York on May 11, 2000, returning to the UK on May 15.

Prince Andrew has consistently denied any wrongdoing in relation to Epstein. Musk has not publicly commented on the new documents.

The batch of records also includes references to meetings with other prominent figures. These include a planned lunch with Peter Thiel in November 2017, a breakfast with Steve Bannon on February 17, 2019, and a tentative December 2014 breakfast party involving Microsoft founder Bill Gates. Gates has since called his meetings with Epstein a “mistake.”

Democrats on the House Oversight Committee said the new files consist of message logs, flight records, financial ledgers, and Epstein’s daily schedules. Committee spokesperson Sara Guerrero urged the release of additional records, saying:

“It should be clear to every American that Jeffrey Epstein was connected to some of the most powerful and wealthiest men in the world. Every new document provides information that can help bring justice for survivors and victims.”

Republicans on the committee accused Democrats of “putting politics over victims,” adding that they intend to release the complete set of files.

Epstein died by suicide in August 2019 while awaiting trial on sex trafficking charges. He had previously reached a 2008 plea deal after being accused of molesting a 14-year-old girl at his Florida home.
