After declining to criticize Black Stars forward Brandon Solomon Thomas-Asante for missing a big chance, Coventry City manager, Frank Lampard, praised the Ghana player’s performance in Coventry’s 2-1 loss to Norwich City.
Coventry held a 1-0 lead before Black Stars midfielder Amankwah Forson’s goals in the 91st and 94th minute respectively got Norwich the win.
Thomas-Asante played out the entire duration of the game which was Thomas-Asante’s 27th appearance in all competitions for the 26 year old who is competing in his debut season for Coventry after moving from West Bromwich Albion.
Speaking in a post-game presser, Lampard praised the performance of some Coventry players including Thomas-Asante while stating that Coventry must take the loss to Norwich City “on the chin”.
“Brandon as well up front, he was very good and all of his diligence off the ball and his work ethic for the team, as well as his hold up play.”
After 26 games, Coventry City rank 16th in the 24 team league standings; Lampard replaced Mark Robbins as Coventry manager earlier in the campaign.
