Popular Kumawood actor and entertainer, Kwadwo Nkansah Lil Win, has officially announced his intention to contest the Afigya Kwabre North Constituency parliamentary seat in the 2028 elections as an independent candidate.
The actor revealed that, while he had plans to run for office in this year’s elections, he decided to step aside due to reservations and concerns raised from certain quarters.
However, he emphasized that the recent electoral successes of other entertainment personalities and youthful figures have renewed his determination to enter politics.
Lil Win specifically cited the victories and bold moves of industry colleagues such as Baba Sadiq, who won the Okaikwei Central seat, Kwame A Plus at Gomoa Central, and Ebi Bright, who made strides at Tema Central.
“We need the youth in parliament. The country needs fresh energy and bold ideas. In 2028, Afigya Kwabre North will witness change. I will unseat Ken Dapaah’s nephew, Owuraku,” Lil Win declared with confidence.
Providing further context, he explained why he decided against contesting this year, saying:
“When I decided to contest this year, they were worried because the attention was too much. I received some phone calls advising me to step down, and I heeded the calls. But in 2028, I am fully ready to be the incoming MP as an independent candidate.”
Lil Win believes his decision to run will inspire more youth to take active roles in governance and bring the change the country needs.
