The Ghana Under-20 star made the headlines when he joined the Spanish giants’ junior team alongside left full back David Oduro who played for Accra Lions.
However, Issah’s time at Barcelona B didn’t go as planned as the talented midfielder struggled for game time playing just 26 minutes in total.
Issah also spent time away from the team to represent Ghana at the CAF Under-20 AFCON in Egypt where the Black Satellites missed out on qualifying to the World Cup after losing 5-4 on penalties to the host nations at the quarterfinal stage.
Issah scored against Egypt as Ghana drew 2-2 at the end of regulation time and extra time; he scored Ghana’s first penalty kick in the shootout.
The 19 year old who turns 20 in November excelled in Dreams FC’s remarkable semifinal run in the 2023-2024 CAF Confederations Cup and was nominated in the Young Player of the Year category at the CAF Awards.
He won the MTN FA Cup and African Games prior to his season long loan move to Barcelona.
