Asante Kotoko’s Communications Director, Sarfo Duku, has expressed frustration over the team’s travel experience in Nigeria ahead of their CAF Confederation Cup second-leg clash with Kwara United.
The Porcupines arrived in Lagos on Friday before making a two-hour road trip to Abeokuta, the match venue. According to Duku, the buses provided by Kwara United officials were “old, without air conditioners,” and uncomfortable for some players.
“It was a 45-minute flight from Accra to Lagos, and after landing, officials arranged buses for us. We expected the same treatment we gave them in Accra, but unfortunately, the buses were quite old. Some of our tall players struggled to adjust because of the tight seating,” he told Luv FM.
Kotoko lead 4-3 from the first leg in Kumasi and need a positive result in Sunday’s game to progress to the next round, where Moroccan giants Wydad Casablanca await.
