DBG Audit Report Sent to Attorney General; Accountability Stressed

The Deloitte audit report on the Development Bank Ghana (DBG) has been forwarded to the Attorney General for legal action, with Finance Minister Dr. Cassiel Ato Forson vowing that those responsible for weakening the bank will be held accountable.

Dr. Forson made the statement after meeting key development partners, including the World Bank, African Development Bank (AfDB), Germany’s KfW, and the European Investment Bank (EIB), to discuss the audit findings and DBG’s future.

He stressed that accountability is non-negotiable and revealed that the bank is finalizing its Corporate and Action Plans to ensure a stronger, more sustainable operation.

A new Chief Executive Officer is expected to be appointed by Monday, while the process of constituting a new Board will conclude by the end of October.

DBG Interim Board Chair Albert Essien reaffirmed the bank’s commitment to transparency and good governance, with development partners welcoming the reforms and pledging their support.
